No direct internet connection on the server or client machine you try to install nprinting designer on.
The prerequisites to install NPrinting designer are:
There are two ways of installing NPrinting designer:
- .net runtime full minimum 4.6.2
- enabled system protection
- optional have MS Office installed prior the installation
If you have internetaccess at your Server you are able to run option one, it will download the .Net framework in case it is not already installed. If you have no internet connection or are going via a proxy use option two.1. Using the QlikNPrinting_Designer.exe with the silent switches
2. Extracting the msi from the exe file and run with silent switches
- QlikNPrinting_Designer.exe /S /v/qn
Start the QlikNPrinting_Designer.exe
as admin and wait for the dialog to appear:
Open the windows explorer and navigate to %temp%
Copy the last two folders created into a separate folder, note that the GUIDs might be different on your system:
The first folder contains:
The second one has the Windows installer files:
Close down the EXE installer with cancel.
To try the msi installation, change to the folder where you copied the msi file to and run the following command, note here with /qb
to see output:Msiexec /qb! /i "Qlik NPrinting Designer.msi" /L*V C:\Temp\nprintdesigner.log ALLUSERS=1 PRODUCTLANGUAGE=1033 AGREETOLICENSE=YES
Productlanguage can be changed to different values e.g. 1033 eng,1031 german
, but will only work if the system is run with the same language.
Once you didn’t get an error in the installation you can switch to /qn
instead of /qb!
to see no dialog. The complete silent switch would look like this:Msiexec /qn /i "Qlik NPrinting Designer.msi" /L*V C:\Temp\nprintdesigner.log ALLUSERS=1 PRODUCTLANGUAGE=1033 AGREETOLICENSE=YES
If you open appwiz.cpl
you will see the Qlik NPrinting Designer in the installed programs list.
In case it doesn't show up here, check the logfile, in our example you would find it in c:\temp\nprintdesigner.log
