Qlik Sense has an Always One Selected Value feature to ensure that a field always has a single value selected, see the
Feb 2019 Always One Selected Value documentation for more details.
It was reported that this configuration can sometimes cause the end user to become stuck and unable to select the next values that they want to view, based on the data model, object configurations and user selections.
Environment:
Qlik Sense Feb 2019
Qlik Sense Nov 2018
Working as designed.
A new product enhancement idea was logged to request that a way to escape the potential dead-ends caused by Always One Selected be considered in a future versison of the product.
Qlik has previously received feedback on this feature and recorded the request for future review. For up to date information, please contact support at (
support.qlik.com) referencing this article number.
The resolution for this issue was to use the Extension Bundle which was available in the Nov 2018 release and Feb 2019 release to add a Navigation button.
The navigation button can be set up to reference a bookmark. The bookmark can be set up for the sheet to correspond to a default starting position for the sheet and give the user a one-click reset option to escape the dead-end caused by the configuration of the objects with Always One Selected Value.
For more information on the Navigation Button from the Extension Bundle, please reference the
Feb 2019 Navigation Button extension documentation.
If you do not have the extension bundles available in your Nov 2018 or Feb 2019 environment, please refer to the following article
Installing and removing Qlik Sense Extension bundle for details on how to enable the extension bundle.
