The customer noticed the GeoAnalytics server URL not getting populated with the server entry from the settings.js.
In previous versions of the Qlik GeoAnalytics Local Server installation instructions for Qlik Sense (Jan 22, 2018)
Step 13. When you pull the Qlik GeoAnalytics Map Layer onto the canvas, by default it would point to the cloud Server. To ensure that it points to the local Qlik GeoAnalytics Server do the following steps:
- Edit the settings.js file found in C:\QlikShare\StaticContent\Extensions\ideviomap, where QlikShare is the shared folder setup during shared persistence.
- Alter the "server" setting to point to your local GeoAnalytics server (or add it if settings.js is empty) and save.
Note: Server name has to be in the format “http(s)://SystemName:Port”
. If using the default ports, then port number can be excluded.
Confirm you can drag a map extension object onto the canvas which will point to the local Qlik GeoAnalytics Server that has been installed. Create connections in the data load editor which will pull data from your local Qlik GeoAnalytics Server. Build a map.
In September 2018 GeoAnalytics Server for Qlik Sense, the server URL entry is blank as seen below.
The blank entry in the server URL is a feature. If you have set a correct server name in settings.js, that entry will be used but not shown in the app. This is to allow moving an app from Dev to Prod without having to touch the application
