Unable to edit or create new reports in NPrinting with "An error occurred while connecting to the server. Please try again."

While on the Reports page and attempting to edit a report template by clicking on "Edit Template", the following error is displayed on a pop-up box:Error
An error occurred while connecting to the server. Please try again.
If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.
- Qlik NPrinting Februrary 2018 release and newer.
If all the basic troubleshooting has been performed to confirm there is no network connectivity issues between the Nprinting Designer Client and NPrinting server, or between the NPrinting services, it is possible that the section below is missing in the following file:
File: C:\Program Files\NPrintingServer\proxy\webconsoleproxy\src\qlik.com\webconsoleproxy\conf\routes
Section in routes file:
# Designer token login
POST /login/designer/* Authentication.ForwardAndLogin
Add the text described in the Cause section below to the proxy routes file using a text editor. See attached file for default location.
