When using Kerberos, the Cloudera Impala QVOdbcConnectorPackage Connector does not connect. It simply returns a "connection failed" message in the "Test Connection" option in QlikView.
The logs will show the following error message:
Error System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: ERROR [08S01] [Qlik][ODBC Impala Wire Protocol driver]Socket closed.
[Qlik][ODBC Impala Wire Protocol driver]Insufficient information to connect to the data source. ERROR [HY000] [Qlik][ODBC Impala Wire Protocol driver]Insufficient information to connect to the data source.
When using Kerberos, you need to configure the Cloudera Impala connection in the ODBC Administrator and enable SSL.
This is accomplished by opening the ODBC Adminstrator, 32 or 64-bit depending on your driver, and adding a Cloudera Impala System DSN.
Once you enter the required fields choose the SSL Options button and enable the SSL.
Back in QlikView, instead of connecting using the QVOdbcConnectorPackage choose the standard ODBC connection. This will then allow for a successful connection since SSL has been enabled.
