Users or NPrinting admin suddenly notices that a meta data reload or report generation has become slower even though nothing has changed.
A symptom of this could be that an EXACT copy of the same application reloads faster than the normal application, in reference to meta data generation of a Qlikview application.
When you go to the following location C:\Users\%<user running NPrinting service>%\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech\QlikView\Bookmarks
the bookmark files for NPrinting are quite big in terms of size in bytes. It can sometimes be larger than 10MB
There are 2 ways the problem can be fixed,
the manual way and using a scriptResolving the problem Manually.
1. Stop the NPrinting Engine service.
2. Delete all xml files found in the following location C:\Users\%USER_NAME%\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech\QlikView\Bookmarks
3. Start the NPrinting engine service again. and the problem will be gone.Using the attached batch script
Run the batch script as administrator
It basically does the same process.
It stops the QlikNPrintingEngine service, then cleans the bookmarks folder, and finally restarts the service.
It must be run as Administrator on all NPrinting Engine machines by the QlikNPrintingEngine service user.
It can be run manually or added in a Windows task (Task Scheduler)UPDATE: Resolved In NPrinting April 2018 release -
Qlik NPrinting now removes temporary bookmarks
