Use case :
We will use two servers, one server with the default Qlikview Webserver, and one server with IIS (Qlikview Setting Service)QlikviewServer1
- Distribution Service
- Management Service
- Qlikview Webserver
- Directory Service Connector
- Qlikview Server
- Qlikview Setting service
Install Qlikview with custom setup and choose the services you want during the installation on each server.
For IIS setup, please refer to this article "How to configure: QlikView and IIS
Once installed, configure the services in the QMC and link services either to Server1 or Server2
You must then have 2 webservers.
For WebServer1, it must be linked to the QVS which resides on Server2 in this example.
For each WebServer, select the authentication method you want. It can be for example :
- Default login page for WebServer1
- Alternate login page for WebServer2
Now, opening the accesspoint :
will authenticate with NTLM without prompting for credentials
will redirect to http://qlikserver2/qlikview/FormLogin.htm
and prompt for credentials.On QlikServer1 :
On QlikServer2 :
How to mix different types of authentication?
A QlikView Webserver only allows a single type of authentication. Either NTLM, or DMS. If a mix of both is needed, 2 webservers are needed.
QlikView Server Authentication must be DMS
Set the 1st web server's authentication type to NTLM
Set the 2nd Web server's authentication type to Custom User
