When attempting to import an extension to Qlik Sense Server, the user is presented with the error message: "Failed to import extensions. Please check the log file." This is a known bug in 2.1.1.
The root cause is Qlik Sense 2.1.1 that allowed unexpected MIME types to be uploaded. Many extension repositories like Github include file types which were not expected. For example many .ZIP files from Github have README or .gitignore files.
A workaround has been discussed in community:https://community.qlik.com/thread/181855Workaround:
Remove the LICENSE and the README.md file, zip it again and upload it again, then it will work.OR
Run the QlikSenseMimeTypeAdmin.exe attachment. You will need to run the executable file on server as the service account AND in administrator mode
. The executable file is not finalized solution the fix is a work in progress and thus will change.
2. Click ‘Add Predefined List’
3. An information dialog will then appear to show mime types that have been added or updated. Note: Above methods may not working for every extension, if it doesn't work after your tests, please bring the extension back to support for further checking with R&D.
