Users have been correctly pulled in from a data source (database), but any login attempts to the HUB or Management Console fail. Sense cannot be accessed and users cannot be authenticated.
Environment:
Qlik Sense, any version
No actual authentication method was implemented to make use of the users that were imported.
Out of the box, Qlik Sense is installed with Active Directory / Windows Authentication authentication enabled. This allows for user authentication as long as the users are part of a Windows Domain or are local users on the Windows server hosting Qlik Sense.
Populating users through the User Directory Connector does not allow for authentication, but can be used for authorization, which are handled as two distinct, unconnected actions in Qlik Sense.
This default authentication module requires that the proxy that handles the authentication is part of the Microsoft Windows domain.
Other authentication methods are available but require additional customization steps.
See our online help for details and how to go about implementing a custom authentication module to suit different needs, such as for cross-domain authentication (SSO).
