Can NPrinting connect to Qlik Sense or QlikView when the systems are installed on different Active Directory Domains?

Environment

The Qlik NPrinting connection to the Qlik Sense app must use a Virtual Proxy with the following enabled:

  • Authentication Method: Ticket
  • Windows authentication pattern: Windows

All supported Qlik Nprinting to Qlik Sense or Qlik NPrinting to QlikView connection configurations must be implemented within a single Active Directory domain where the NPrinting, Qlik Sense and QlikView servers as well as the NPrinting service account, are all members of the same domain.

Generally, workgroups, domain trusts, multiple domains, and cross-domain implementations are not supported. For example, where Qlik NPrinting Server is deployed on one domain and The Qlik Sense and or QlikView server are members of different domains.

The Qlik NPrinting service account running the Qlik NPrinting services must remain a member of the same domain as the Qlik NPrinting, Qlik Sense, and QlikView server.

Reference: Supported and unsupported configurations

If JWT or SAML are implemented, the restriction for Qlik NPrinting web console users mapped to domain accounts in other 'trusted' domains (a domain that NPrinting can authenticate to within the same Active Directory Forest) is lifted. JWT and SAML authentication features enable potential users from different domains to access the NPrinting Web Console.

As before, the Qlik NPrinting service account running the Qlik NPrinting services must remain a member of the same domain as the Qlik NPrinting, Qlik Sense, and QlikView server.
