How to load an Excel file from SharePoint to QlikSense and how to get the correct file path to load data with a Qlik Office 365 Sharepoint connector.
Qlik Web Connectors: Qlik Office 365 SharePoint Connector All Qlik Sense versions
Steps to locate a file and generate the URL to use in Qlik Sense
Locate the folder (in SharePoint) where the file you want to load is located.
Steps to follow (links provided are just an example for reference):
Authenticate against your O365 Sharepoint instance and run the 'ListFolders' table, providing the "Base URL" and "Sub Site Path", after provide these values pres the button "Save Inputs and Run Table":
Base URL: https://<yourO365TenantID>.sharepoint.com
Sub site Path: /sites/<yoursubsiteDirectoryPath>
Locate the folder where the excel file is contained, after running the table I can see the location where I know the file I tried to read is located (you can repeat this step to continue listing nested folder and see the contents):
/sites/<yoursubsiteDirectoryPath>/Shared Documents/Functional Area - Development
Once located paste down the path with the location in the "Folder" field and run the table again
After running again the table, locate the "ServerRelativeUrl", in this example:
/sites/<yoursubsiteDirectoryPath>/Shared Documents/Functional Area - Development/TestFolder
Now go back and select the "ListFiles" table option and paste the "ServerRelativeUrl" that you copied previously on the "Folder" field, run the table again and you may see all the files listed in that folder, copy the "UniqueId" of the xslx document you are interested. as per my example:
Now go back and choose the GetFile table and in the "Sub Site path" should be the subsite that you have previously used and in the "UniqueId For File" paste the "UniqueId" that you copied before, run the table you may see some data in the data preview.
UniqueId For File: cf079b74-1bc8-4a5a-971d-07321081a6ac
Click on the tab that is next to the data preview the one called Qlik Sense (Standard mode) or (Legacy Mode) depending on the configuration you are using.
Copy the URL that has been created, in my example:
