Centralized logging has been deprecated with the Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows May 2021 release. This article is only valid for previous versions. No support can be provided on Qlik Centralized logging as all Qlik Sense versions using it have reached end of life.
The article explains how to disable Centralize logging mode when the logging database has already been set up during the installation, as well as how to remove the currently filled-up database.
1. Verify Centralized Logging mode
( Please see relevant article: How To Verify if Qlik Sense Is Running With Centralized Logging Service )
- Open CMD.exe as Administrator
- Go to Logging folder: cd C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Logging
- Execute the following: Qlik.Logging.Service.exe validate
- Verify CentralizedLoggingEnabled: True or False
2. Disable Central logging mode
Execute the following command:
cd C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Logging\Qlik.Logging.Service.exe update -d off
4. Optional step to remove and reduce the Qlik Sense logging database
See this article for details: Qlik Sense: Steps to reduce Excessive HDD space occupied by PostgreSQL.
5. Switch the Monitoring Apps from using the Qlik Sense logging database to file logging

Hello @jonas_viklund
If you plan not to use the Logging Service, disabling the actual Windows service is recommended.
All the best,
Sonja

hi,
in case of upgrading from Nov 2017 to the latest version
will the logging service be uninstalled by the installer, on the upgrade step (ex. upon upgrade to May 2021)?
or must we disable & uninstall it ourselves?
is there a way to uninstall / remove the existing logging service aside from just disabling the service?
could we safely just sc delete it?
Best,
Lucky

Hello, @Luck Major upgrades perform an uninstall before the services are installed.
But as for any upgrades (and especially for upgrades from versions as old as the unsupported 2017 releases), we highly recommend you to test thoroughly in a test environment before you begin work on your production environment.
All the best,
Sonja
