There may be a data inconsistency when using the affected versions of Compose for Data Warehouses in conjunction with ALL of the following:
- Snowflake
- Replicate CDC
- Type 1 entities
Environment:
- Compose for Data Warehouses April 2020 Release (version 6.6 Initial Release)
- Compose for Data Warehouses April 2020 SR1 Release (Jun 2020 Release).
Fix Version:
- Compose for Data Warehouse April 2020 SR2 (6.6 SP04)
Workaround:
A workaround of the product defect by one of the following:
If the entity does not have any relation to it – truncate the table and reload it
If the entity has relations to it – truncate the HUB table and all the tables of the entities that has relations to it and then reload them
Cause:
On Snowflake, for tables with only Type 1 columns, new records loaded by the CDC task would always start with HUB ID = 1 resulting in duplicate IDs in the HUB every time the CDC task was executed. This is the cause of the data inconsistency.
