Join UsAn underscore is a non standard character and might cause problems with some applications as it is also stated by Windows if you change the host-name of a sever to a one that contains the undescore. In addition:
DNS host names cannot contain the following characters:
comma (,)
tilde (~)
colon (:)
exclamation point (!)
at sign (@)
number sign (#)
dollar sign ($)
percent (%)
caret (^)
ampersand (&)
apostrophe (')
period (.)
parentheses (())
braces ({})
underscore (_)
white space (blank)

In the end, one may still install with underscore in the host name and specify IP address of the machine in the listen_addresses field. But you might consider to edit your host-name according to Microsoft naming conventions.
