Can the Custom Data folder be removed from Qlik Sense's Service Cluster Root Folder?

The CustomData folder was created in the service cluster root folder for a older version of Qlik Sense, but is not mentioned anymore in the current documentation.
Can it be removed safely?
Environment:
Qlik Sense Enterprise June 2019 or higher
Resolution
Since June 2019, the Custom Data folder is no longer used, so it can be removed safely
