While using Qlik Sense desktop, you may encounter "Connection Lost" error message. See below for possible main causes.
1. When running Qlik Sense desktop via the browser: example http://localhost:4848, you may get"Connection Lost" error if Qlik Sense desktop gets closed by mistake while it is still running in the browser.
2. Increased permissions, write access permissions on the installation path may also cause this error
You will need to look at Qlik Sense typical and Custom installation and default paths.
Check how the "services.conf " is generated for typical installation and custom installation.
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/April2019/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Introduction/install-desktop.htmTypical installation will use $HOMEDRIVE or $HOMEPATH for LOGPATH, but custom installation will use local path.
The typical installation assumes that it will have read/write access to $HOMEDRIVE. But, this is not always the case.
If you try to remove the write access to the LOGPATH, you will see the “Connection Error” appearing.
You will need to trace the paths Qlik Sense Desktop is accessing to find this error.
Check the write access permissions to the LOGPATH
