Qlik Sense: Insight Advisor not working with error "Unable to generate Insights"

In particular apps when you attempt to use the insight advisor in Qlik Sense April 2019 and June 2019, you get the following error:
“Unable to generate Insights”.

If you check the Qlik Sense Precedents log you also see errors along the lines of:
esponse https://qlikserver:4950/v1/precedents/generator?appId=bf41337c-9adb-4f9f-82aa-9ecdb0ae6cff&collectionStrategy=collectPublished&xrfkey=8013544b83a442d4  {"message":"Cannot read property 'fieldId' of undefined"} 500


If you check the data profiling logs on the server you see
"message":"Profiling operation could not be completed","details":{"message":"Internal Server Error"}} 500

Resolution:


Is corrected in Qlik Sense September 2019 release.   Refer to defect ID below in Qlik Sense Sept 2019 Release notes. 

 

Cause:

This indicates that there are some invalid entries in the precedents database which is preventing the insight advisor from working for this app.
