Use a Variable to Populate a Column in Data Load Editor Script

An issue was reported to Qlik Support that when a variable was used in the data load to populate a column, the column value was not properly populated and showed up as blank.

Cause
Through testing, it appeared that the variable worked better once the data model had been created, therefore a resident load seemed the best way to accomplish the desired outcome to populate a data column from the script variable.
Resolution
Multiple techniques were tried to resolve this issue but in the end the issue was resolved by first loading the table with the column blank and then doing a resident load to populate the column with the variable value.
