QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) Root logs starts filling up suddenly with "Error PurgeThread encountered exception.. Exception=System.IO.IOException: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" lines

The QDS root logs becomes suddenly huge.
There are thousands of lines per second with:
