Join UsShould existing engine connection(s) be recreated after restoring a NPrinting Database from another environment?
Environments
NPrinting November 2018
NPrinting February 2019
Yes, all the existing engine connections will need to be recreated from NPrinting Engine Manager menu, simply because these connections were not present on the other environment you are restoring from.
Please note that you won´t need to reinstall the engine on the servers, just re-create the connection on the restored environment.
Example
Objective

NPrinting engine hostname: Qlikserver1
Engine connection: QlikServer1_Engine connection - engine and NP server running on the same instance
b) Target environment
Nprinting server hostname Hostname: Qlikserver4
Nprinting engines hostname: Qlikserver2 & Qlikserver3
Engine connection:
Qliksrv2_engine1 running on Qlikserver2
Qliksrv3_engine2 running on Qlikserver3
Transfer procedure
c) Restore the database from target to source environment following these instructions
d) Delete the QlikServer1_Engine connection in Nprinting Engine manager (click on the settings button, press delete)
e) Create 2 new connections
