Qlik Sense November 2018 Re-Install Fails on Installing PostgreSQL

While reinstalling Qlik Sense November 2018, the install fails while setting up the database. This server previously had Qlik Sense, but the programdata folder has been removed.

On looking into the log files from the installer the following error can be found:

Action 00:53:17 31 System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: The specified account name is already a member of the group.

Our installer attempts to add the service user to a new group, Qlik Sense Service Users. If this operation fails then the install fails and rolls back.

Unfortunately, the installer doesn't check the reason why the add operation fails and you cannot add the same user to the same group twice, so if your service user already is already part of the group, the operation fails and the install fails.

Remove the account running the services from the group Qlik Sense Service Users
