Single quote in SQL comment causes Load Script to fail with Incorrect syntax near '/'

SQL comments in the Load Script which contain a single quote cause the script to fail with the following error:

The following error occurred:
Connector reply error: SQL##f - SqlState: 42000, ErrorCode: 102, ErrorMsg: Incorrect syntax near 'unqualify'., Incorrect syntax near '/'.

Below is an example of an SQL comment: (the word haven't in the sql comment has a single quote)

Where Name = 'Finance' --Action items that haven't resolved and are less than 7 days old

Environment:

Qlik Sense November 2018 SR 2

R&D has indicated that is working as designed behavior on bug QLIK-93508.

This behavior was reported to R&D for further investigation: QLIK-93508. This bug was closed by R&D as working as designed. 

Solution / Workaround:
The single quotes can be manually removed from the comments marked with -- and the error is avoided.
if // is used to mark the comment instead of -- then the issue/error is avoided.  
/* ... */ (forward slash-asterisk character pairs) can also be used for the SQL comments and the issue is avoided.
