Unfortunately a qvf file cannot be merged, however, the ability to break a Qlik Sense app down into its components and only backup the structure of the app itself rather than the data is possible. In terms of reference points for designing an implementation the key ones are:

  • A GUI based tool which includes a Source Control Assistant utility which allows an admin, using a GUI, to back up the structure of the app independent of the data.

Practically neither of those projects will work for every use case out of the box but they do gesture to code examples of how to extract the JSON structure of an app from an app and store it into a source control style system.
