After upgrading to 2018 some documents (.QVW)can not be opened. Not from access point or desktop. Can not reload either.
"Access denied!. the server() is currently out of session and usage CALs. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator! -128 "
There might also be other error messages.

The document opens fine in earlier versions.

This is reported as Bug QV-16032
It seems to be caused by that in QlikView 12.30 the rendering engine has change from GDi+ to Skia. 

The problem occurs when images of type .tiff (Tagged Image File Format) are used.

.tiff images are not supported in Skia.

 

Fixed in QlikView November 2018 (12.30) SR1
The fix results in those images not loading but the document still loading ok, so some objects might be missing their background.

As a workaround you can turn off Skia for more info, Modify the rendering engine in QlikView 12.30 from Skia to GDI+
You have to add line GraphicsBackEnd=0 in the [Settings 7] section of the settings.ini files.
