Azure Application Gateway redirects to internal IP when used as a Reverse Proxy for Qlik Sense

In a Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows setup with an Azure Application Gateway as a reverse proxy, requests are falsely redirected to the internal IP.

To mitigate this, add the custom header "X-forwarded-Host" in the Azure Application Gateway, setting it to the external IP.

See X-Forwarded-Host (external site) for more information regarding the custom header.

Hi Sonja,

Will this resolve the 502 error when the Azure Application Gateway backend protocol is set to HTTPS?

Also, how to make this "X-forwarded-Host" setting in the Application Gateway? What is the value?

Thank you,

Elbert

Hello @elbertfjr22 I cannot speak to the error you mentioned.

As for the value on X-forwarded-Host, as mentioned in the article, this should be the external IP address you intend to use.

All the best,
Sonja
