The Microsoft update KB4480970 may cause issues with the QlikView WebServer in combination with QlikView November 2017 (12.20) SR3 .
Issues include, but are not limited to, connection problems to the QlikView WebServer (QVWS) and Directory Service Connector (DSC) from the QlikView Management Console (QMC).
Problems are seen after installing the Microsoft Monthly rollup
KB4480970 (January 8th 2019).
Environment:
QlikView Server 12.20 SR3
Deployment example:
An extranet deployment with QVWS and DSC services running in DMZ with a local service account.
Both remote services are showing as disconnected in the QMC, the services do not return the service xml when pointed at the services.
The remote webserver logs shows the following :

Last exception (for http://<servername>:4735/DSC/Service): ANY did not respond to request.
Last exception (for http://<servername>:4735/DSC/Service): The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error.
20190111T024111.322+0000 Information Request received [POST]: https://<servername>/QvAJAXZfc/Authenticate.aspx?back=%2Fqlikview%2FFormLogin.htm Removing the update fixed the error.
It is unknown as of yet what part of KB4480970 caused the issue, but if similar problems check if this KB has been recently installed.
Removed KB4480970 which resolved the issue
