NPrinting is not recognizing SSL Certificates after upgrade

NPrinting is not recognizing SSL Certificates after upgrade. Other settings performed on the app.conf file may also not be enabled after upgrade.

Environment:

• Qlik NPrinting 17 and 18

Content of the app.conf in the NPrinting 17.3 (or older) is overwritten after an NPrinting software upgrade by design. This is documented under Upgrading Qlik Nprinting.

In addition, as of June 2017 build, the location of app.conf has changed. However the app.conf still needs to be recreated/restored on the old location after upgrading from 17.3 to a newer build.

When you upgrade to Qlik NPrinting June 2017 or later the following new folders are created automatically:

• %ProgramData%\NPrinting\newsstandproxy\
• %ProgramData%\NPrinting\webconsoleproxy\

A copy of the app.conf file, with everything commented, is inserted in each folder. Settings that are not commented in the app.conf files have a higher priority than the old files, so they will overwrite the same settings in the older files. Going forward, after the first upgrade to June 2017 or newer the settings in the new app.conf files will be kept.

Restore or recreate the configuration stored in app.conf files. If upgrading from 17.3 or older, restore or recreate the configs in the old file location. More information under Upgrading Qlik Nprinting.
