High CPU when QlikView API calls related to SelectTextsInColumn

In QlikView API calls related to SelectTextsInColumn, when selecting multiple values using the Select_In_Field Actions (based on a variable trigger), the server experiences 100% CPU for some time.
It should be noted that this occurs when a high number of values is being selected - into the thousands. 

SelectTexts(recordsToSelect)
SelectTextsInColumn(Column, toggle, recordsToSelect)
SelectValues(values, toggle)
SelectValuesInColumn(values, isFinal)
 

The conclusion here is related to the fact that the SelectInField and SelectText options have been designed for user interaction and not for very large data selections via the API. There are scalability limitations for very large API calls. For such requirements external components will need to be investigated.
