The Qlik Sense native map uses locally stored QVD's to geocode. These QVD's can be found at: C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\DataPrepService\src\geo (server installation) or C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Programs\Qlik\Sense\DataPrepService\src\geo (desktop installation).
It's important to note that this is not an exhaustive list of Cities and Counties. For example, if the population of the City is less than 15,000, the city is not included in this list.
City Names that occur within multiple states could see an issue when trying to filter the data on a map. The city could be plotted in a different state and/or a State filter applied, could show the same City Name plotted multiple times in other States.
It is best to geocode locations with a tool like GeoAnalytics that will use the entire string to geocode the location (ex: City, State) and provide a more accurate lat/long to plot on the map.
