QlikNPrintingRepoService starts and stops

After an upgrade or installation the QlikNPrintingRepoService is not starting with the following error:
 

The QlikNPrintingRepoService service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.


Environment:

 

Due to environmental reasons, the permissions of the folder %ProgramData%\NPrinting\data (default location: C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\data ) have been modified.

 

Resolution

Add permissions for the Qlik NPrinting Service user and "Network Service" to the  %ProgramData%\NPrinting\data folder. 

  1. Right-click on the folder name from %ProgramData%\NPrinting and select Properties
  2. Select the Security tab
  3. Click on Edit
  4. Click on Add
  5. Add the missing user and confirm
  6. Verify that the user has "Full Control"
  7. Confirm all open dialogues

In case of problems with doing the steps above, check with the company's IT.  Should the "data" subfolder be missing, verify the installation process, as something was not done right.

Hi @Daniele_Purrone ,

We are facing similar issue, - even though we tried giving all the access to data folder, services wont start.

Can you please recommend anything ?

Hi @Sonja_Bauernfeind  -

we could resolve the issue doing two changes as below

  • Setting Permissions to data folder
    • Granted access to service account and other accounts used by Qlik
