How to enable extended logging for the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS)Article Number: 000055543 | Last Modified: 2018/11/28
Sometimes Qlik Support might request to enable extended/debug logging for the QDS.
- stop the QDS;
- use ad administrator Notepad to edit "C:\Program Files\QlikView\Distribution Service\QVDistributionService.exe.config" ;
- change the following keys by setting their values to true and save the file:
<!-- ************ Extended Logging ************ --> <!-- Setting this key to true will enable logging of memory usage and stack trace on "Error" logging --> <add key="DebugLog" value="true"/> <!-- Setting this key to true will enable logging used for debug. --> <add key="Trace" value="true"/>
- restart the service;
- reproduce the issue;
- once the extended logs are not needed anymore, repeat these steps and change the keys back to false.
