How to enable extended logging for the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS)

Sometimes Qlik Support might request to enable extended/debug logging for the QDS.

Environments:

QlikView, any

1. stop the QDS;
2. use ad administrator Notepad to edit  "C:\Program Files\QlikView\Distribution Service\QVDistributionService.exe.config" ;
3. change the following keys by setting their values to true and save the file: 

   <!-- ************ Extended Logging ************ -->
       <!-- Setting this key to true will enable logging of memory usage and stack trace on "Error" logging -->
       <add key="DebugLog" value="true"/>
       <!-- Setting this key to true will enable logging used for debug. -->
       <add key="Trace" value="true"/>
   

4. restart the service;
5. reproduce the issue;
6. once the extended logs are not needed anymore, repeat these steps and change the keys back to false.
