Nprinting - store to folder also stores attachments not marked for distribution
Article Number: 000054704 | Last Modified: 2018/11/21
Description
I have a Nprinting task which distributes two reports. In addition I have a third HTML-report which I use as the email body. The two reports are marked as selected attachments and it works regarding distribution to email addresses. However, I also have a folder as a destination. Here, the HTML report is also stored, even though it is not marked as a selected attachment.
Expected behavior: The report used only as the HTML body and not marked for distribution shouldn't be stored in the folder destination.
Cause
If a report is created by the task it will be available in the specified destinations. Even if we haven't selected the report for distribution via e-mail, we cannot restrict it from being available in the destinations.
As per the current behavior, here is the workflow:
Reports specified in the 'Reports' section are all generated.
All the reports are published in the destinations (Newsstand and Folder) for the users specified.
The email is created as you have designed and only those reports that you have selected for distribution are attached.
Resolution
If you would like to publish in Newsstand and folder destination, a different set of reports than what you specify in e-mail, you can achieve that with 2 tasks, one that sends the 3 reports over e-mail and another that publishes 2 of these to Newsstand and folder destinations. If you believe that you have a promising use case to support your requirement of being able to control the reports published in folder and newsstand, we invite you to post or follow the idea in Qlik Idea forum (https://qlik.ideaglow.com/forums/)
