Qlik Sense: Use a different username than SAMAccountName with Windows Active Directory

It is not possible to use a different username than SAMAccountName with Windows Active Directory.

Environments:

• Qlik Sense 2.x and later

When a user connects to the hub or QMC, the Qlik Proxy has hard-coded in its code to fetch for the SAMAccountName.
Although, you can synchronize users with User Directory Connectors and get the email as user name, this is only for authorizations and once you authenticate it will try to use the SAMAccountName.
 

If you want to use something else as the user name, Qlik advises you use other types of authentication.
For example, SAML will let you choose freely what piece of information will be used as the user name in Qlik Sense.
