  1. Take a backup of the app and data associated with the app:
    1. Export the existing Operations Monitor app via the QMC (Apps > More actions > Export). Backup to a safe location.
    2. Backup the QVD files in the Central Node Log directory (C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log by default)
    3. Verify you have an Operations Monitor QVF file in the DefaultApps section of the Qlik installation directory (C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\DefaultApps by default). Ask support for a copy for your version of Qlik Sense if you cannot locate the file.
    4. Write down any reload tasks associated with the app so that you can restore them later
    5. Write down the original owner of the app (should be the internal repository user, INTERNAL\sa_repository)
  2. Remove the Operations Monitor App and associated data files:
    1. Delete the Operations Monitor app via the QMC (Apps > Delete). This removes both the app and associated reload tasks.
    2. Delete the QVD files associated with the Operations Monitor App (governance*.qvd) in the Central Node Log directory (C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log by default)
  3. Restart all Qlik Sense services.
  4. Re-import the Operations Monitor App from the installation directory:
    1. Locate the default Operations Monitor app in the DefaultApps section of the Qlik installation directory (C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\DefaultApps by default)
    2. Import the app via the QMC (Apps > Import)
    3. Change ownership of the app to the same user as before (should have been the internal repository user, INTERNAL\sa_repository)
    4. Recreate any reload tasks noted from step 1
  5. Reload the app, and verify the app works as expected.

Hello Sonja,

Can you tell me, what does the Monitoring applications version depend on? I wanted to apply the analysis described by a user described in this Community Post , but it uses a newer version of the Monitoring App than the one that I have installed (7.18 in the example and 7.16 is the one that I have). My intuition tells me that Monitoring app version depends on the Qlik version installed in the server as those applications are stored in C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\DefaultApps. The Qlik version that I have available is Qlik Sense August 2021 Patch 4.

Is it possible to configure there a 7.18 version of Monitoring applications in my Qlik Enterprise environment?

Regards.
Antoni

Hello @anmagrEMobG

You can certainly install it and configure it, though compatibility cannot be guaranteed depending on what Qlik Sense version you are on. Changes to services (new services, for example, or removal of them), as well as logging changes can impact its functionality. As you mentioned 2021, then any of the current ones are likely going to experience issues.

I recommend giving it a try, though be aware that if it does not work, Qlik Support will not be able to assist, and you will need to upgrade Qlik Sense (2021 has reached the end of life).

A download of the 7.18 versions is not available. You would need to obtain it from a later install (unfortunately, I do not currently know what version of Qlik Sense that would be, but I believe anything from 2022 and upwards).

All the best,
Sonja

Sonja,

thanks for a fast reply, it clarifies a lot. As I need a specific functionality from this application, I should be fine with it's script, just to have a look into differences between my 7.16 version and a newer one. Can you tell me, where can I find 7.18 or newer version of the Operations Monitoring App for a script review?

Regards,
Antoni

To sum up, in order to get any newer version of any monitoring app, I need to perform an update of all qlik environment? Or is there for example some installation file available from which I could get it?

Hello @anmagrEMobG

You can download the later versions of Qlik Sense install packages on our download site. If you do not intend to upgrade, you can install (and not license or otherwise use) it and grab the monitoring apps from there.

All the best,
Sonja
