Broken QlikView Management Console (QMC) in Internet Explorer after upgrade from QlikView 11.20

Internet Explorer (IE) does not render properly the QMC after upgrading from 11.20 to QlikView 12.xx.
Tabs are empty, the license information cannot be added, the whole QMC is badly rendered and unusable.
Environments:
QlikView 12.00, 12.10, 12.20 (November 2017)
Cause
Internet Explorer 8.
While Internet Explorer 8 can still be used for the Access Point in QlikView 12,00 and 12.10, it won't be able to render the QMC.
Support for IE 8 was fully dropped in QlikView 12.20.
It's also worth mentioning that Microsoft currently only supports Internet Explorer 11 in their operative systems.
System Requirements for QlikView 12.20.
Resolution
Upgrade IE to version 11, or use a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
