Working with Multi-Page Mashups In the Qlik Sense Mashup Editor in the Dev Hub Does Not Work As Expected

When building multi-page mashups in the Qlik Sense Mashup Editor in the Dev Hub does not work as expected, for instance objects cannot be dragged into the second HTML page in the preview window.

Environments:

• Qlik Sense Enterprise, all versions

The Qlik Sense Mashup Editor, in general, was not built to accommodate the use-case involving complex mashups containing more than one HTML page. The preview window in particular is hard-coded to look at <mashup-name>.html only. The general anticipated use case was for the editor to provide an introduction in mashups, and that after that point Developers would use their preferred IDE. Therefore, unexpected behaviors with multi-page mashups in the Mashup Editor are currently considered "Working As Designed".

Workaround:
Use your preferred IDE when editing complex mashups, rather than the Mashup Editor in the Dev Hub.

Fix:
Unexpected behaviors with two-or-more page mashups is currently considered "Working As Designed" because this was not an anticipated use-case for the Mashup Editor.

However, an Improvement request QLIK-88881 has been raised with R&D to better-accommodate this use-case. No timelines for the implementation of this improvement are currently available at the time this article was written.
