Trying to load data doing a drag and drop into a Qlik Sense app shows the message "An error occurred, Invalid path"

000049775.jpg

Environments:

Cause:

  • Not enough privileges access for the service account for all the folders that are under the Shared folder (shared persistence) in Qlik Sense.
  • Data Connection 'AttachedFiles' not pointing to the correct shared path.

Resolution:

  1. To solve the issue, grant read and write access to the Qlik Sense service account for all the folders located in the Service Cluster folders:  Apps, ArchivedLogs, CustomData, and StaticContent

    1. To locate the Service Cluster: Open the Qlik Sense Management Console: https://<QPS server name>/qmc, then select Service cluster on the QMC start page or from the StartArrow down drop-down menu to display the service cluster page.
    2. Navigate to the Service Cluster in a Windows File Explorer
    3. Modify the file permissions and add the Qlik Sense Service account to have read and write access.

  2. Verify that the Connection String of the data connection 'AttachedFiles' points to the shared path '\\<ServerWithTHeSharedFolder>\<SharedFolder>\StaticContent\AppContent\<APP_ID>'
    1. To locate the Data Connections: Open the Qlik Sense Management Console: https://<QPS server name>/qmc, then select Data connections on the QMC start page or from the StartArrow down drop-down menu to display the service cluster page.
    2. Locate the AttachedFiles data connection and modify it accordingly (See Editing data connections for additional information)

Hello Sonja,

I have changed the service clusters at my customers via util.exe.

Afterwards I noticed that the Attached Files Connection does not work properly anymore.

Although I have addressed all the points you mentioned above:
Read/Write Access
QMC/Dataconnection path adjusted.

I have the feeling that dynamic queries in the Data Connection so <APP_ID> does not work properly, since if I take a fixed value (APPID), it works wonderfully.

Do I have to add the AppIDs manually in the Postgres database? e.g. like this?
UPDATE "DataConnections"
SET "ID" = '47a1cfd8-f70e-4a98-a00d-00fca6c8e253',
"EngineObjectId"='47a1cfd8-f70e-4a98-a00d-00fca6c8e253'
WHERE "Name"='AttachedFiles'.

Best regards Son

Hello @SonPhan

We reviewed this and would need to recommend a case, as this would need to be investigated in more detail as we may be looking at a defect in the tool.

All the best,
Sonja
