The difference between the Qlik TPT Connector and the Teradata driver that is part of the Qlik ODBC Connectors package

It appears that there are two Teradata connection options:

1. The Teradata driver that is part of the  Qlik ODBC Connectors package. This is compatible with Qlik Sense and QlikView

2. The  Qlik TPT Connector that is independent and only compatible with QlikView

The second option above, the Qlik TPT Connector does use the Teradata utilities (BTEQ and FastExport) to load data. It is a thin wrapper around these tools and there is no ODBC related support in this connector at all. It would be expected to be faster than ODBC driver by many times. This is the driving force for creating this TPT Connector.

However the Teradata connector driver that  is offered as part of the ODBC Connector Package will be slower than ODBC because of additional processes that are part of the Qlik ODBC Connectors package.
In general Qlik ODBC Connectors are known to be slower than ODBC
