SharePoint is an online portal that can be used to store and share files.

When trying to create a data connection to SharePoint from Qlik Sense to fetch data from a file, you may experience connection errors due to permission on the Sharepoint  server.

You will need to consider the options below:

Depending on the authentication method applied,  the first option would be to add the Qlik system service account to the site permissions on SharePoint.

Alternatively, data can be fetched for example from an excel file that is placed on SharePoint.

See below for multiple options on how to begin loading in data:

  • How to load an Excel file from sharePoint to Qlik
  • Map SharePoint document library as a network drive and then select the file to load in the normal way. ( load from file )
Ref found in Qlik Sense Online Help: Create > Managing data > Connecting to data sources > Loading data from files
Note: These connection types may only be valid for SharePoint versions 2010 or 2013, and are not supported for 365. APIs are used in SharePoint 365 and best practice is to use Qlik Wed Connectors as mentioned below.
  • Qlik Web Connectors using office 365 SharePoint connector (On-premise version only)

  • Implement Zone to Site Mapping in Internet Explorer

  • Webfile connection
Ref found in Qlik Sense Online Help: Create > Managing data > Connecting to data sources > Loading data from files
  • REST connection

  • 3rd party connectors such as Office 365 Connecto For QlikView And Qlik Sense  ( unsupported )

  • Use OData.

You can also share QlikSense QVF apps on SharePoint:
