After a QlikView server was successfully licensed, the Management Console still shows it as unlicensed.

Alternatively, QlikView or the operating system have been upgraded or system changes were applied and the Management Console now shows QlikView as unlicensed.

The AccessPoint reports No Server

Environment:

QlikView

When applying license in the QlikView management Console, the information is saved in the "Settings.ini" file in C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer  If the file cannot be updated, the server is unable to obtain its license information after restarting.

Wrong NTFS permissions at C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer, where "settings.ini" and ".PGO" files are stored.

Resolution:

Verify that the account running the services has the correct permissions to C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServerIt needs full control to correctly read, write, and modify its operational files.

To correct:

  1. Set NTFS permissions at  C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer
  2. Add "Full control" to the QlikView Administrators group where the local service account is a member, and propagate permission inheritance at "All files and subfolders" under the mentioned path above.

If this does not resolve the issue, the account may have been configured with restrictions. Contact your local IT to have the account reviewed or have a new account with administrative permissions created.
