Cannot License GeoAnalytics when FIPS compliant Algorithm is Enable

User tries to license the GeoAnalytics product; however, the license tool crashes with "Unhandled Exception" error. 

This is due to the Local Security policy of "System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing." is enabled.

How to verify that FIPS is enabled :

1- Press the key combination WINDOWS_KEY+R to launch the Run dialog.
2- Type secpol.msc into the dialog and click OK.
3- In the Local Security Policy Management Console window that opens, use the left tab to navigate to the Local Policies>Security Options.
4- Scroll down the right pane and double-click System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing.
5- In the Properties window, check if " Enable" option is selected



 

1. Create a file called GeoAnalyticsLicenseTool.exe.config in C:\Program Files (x86)\QlikView\GeoAnalyticsLicenseTool
2. Paste this into the file"

3. Save the file.
