Qlik Sense upgrade failure superuser password validation repeatedly fails
Article Number: 000041143 | Last Modified: 2018/06/12
When upgrading Qlik Sense 3, if the installation fails due to incorrect password ( superuser password validation error) , the installation may still continue to fail after resetting the password.
This issue is due to the failure logs that exist in the folder c:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\PostgreSQL\9.6
The folder exists at a point when it shouldn't from a previous upgrade failure.
Environment: Qlik Sense 3.0
You will have to delete it manually and try the upgrade again, making sure to use the correct passwords. The folder was created in the first upgrade attempt using an erroneous password causing the upgrade to fail. This will cause the validation process to fail in consecutive upgrade attempts.
Deleting the 9.6 folder will resolve the issue and the upgrade will be completed successfully.
Note: Only applies when upgrading from version 3 where the existed folder is version 9.3
