After recently upgrading to NP 17.4 from 17.3 SR1 it is no longer possible to access the news stand at https://hostname:4994
when using the exact same login information that was used to access https://hostname:4993.
When attempting to open the newsstand with either windows or nprinting security, the behavior is similar to that which you see if you enter invalid credentials. The same credentials - windows or qlik nprinting - work normally for accessing the NPrinting Web Console. The result is that it is not possible to open the NPrinting NewsStand after the upgrade.
Environment:
Qlik NPrinting
The app.conf file information was manually modified at some point which removed otherwise commented code by default within this file.
Resolution:
Open the app.conf file located in %ProgramData%\NPrinting\newsstandproxy
Please find and set the following parameters from NPWEBCONSOLE to NPNEWSSTAND (assuming that these have been un-commented):
- cookie.prefix=NPNEWSSTAND
- http.port=4994
- csrf.cookie.name=NPNEWSSTAND_XSRF-TOKEN
or
Comment out these lines entirely where applicable:
- # cookie.prefix=NPNEWSSTAND
- # http.port=4994
- # csrf.cookie.name=NPNEWSSTAND_XSRF-TOKEN
- #http.sslcert=${ProgramData}\NPrinting\newsstandproxy\qlik.test.crt
Stop and restart all of the NPrinting services
Open the NewsStand
Logging on will be successful after making the above changes
NOTE: if the .crt and .key file is not configured accurately and these paths remain un-commented, this may cause the NP NewsStand failure to open.
