Qlik Sense dosent change value labels on chart when IF is used to switch between number format
Article Number: 000041086 | Last Modified: 2018/11/21
Description
You create a chart in Qlik Sense with the possibility to switch the visualization. A typical case is that you have a variable with two possible values A and B and an IF formula in the chart. IF the variable is equal to A show the sales grow in percentage %,if the variable in B show the numeric sales value #.
When you change the variable value, the chart is correctly changed, but the numeric format remains the same.
Cause
This is a known limitation with a non-aggregated (in this case a conditional between two aggregations resulting in a scalar total, non-aggregated) total and all totals containing more than one format (which is also true in this particular case). The y-axis is established once and makes a best effort to apply any single available format and this format cannot be re-calculated with any selections or further manipulations like changing a variable value. If no single, well-defined, format is being found, the raw, unformatted, value is used instead (as in this case). N.B. This is the same logic for both QlikView and Qlik Sense.
Resolution
This is a known limitation in Qlik Sense.
