A task successfully reloads a document, but then it fails at distribution with the error "CQvXmlInterfaceRequestHandler - Catch: errId(-1). Ino(-1). Fno(98)" in the task logs.
Cause for the issue: Error 98 corresponds to the "FileCloseWithMetaData" error, per QlikView Server Event Log Fno Message List
The FileCloseWithMetaData is part of the last stage of the file transfer when distributing to QVS. The reload has completed and file in the Temp folder (Guid followed by .qvw.tmp) will be renamed and access rights assigned for the proper target name.
It is possible, when the QDS cannot complete the rename process
, the file gains the attention of virus scanning or other security scan software therefore, cannot be accessed. See QlikView Folder And Files To Exclude From Anti-Virus Scanning
Also, if the QlikVIew server is experiencing restarts due to memory exhaustion as seen in Performance and Event logs, the Distribution Service may not be able to properly communicate with the QlikView server to complete the process and the file remains locked. ProcMon could be used in this event. Configure ProcMon to scan the particular folder to see what process owns the file. Process Monitoring - How to find locked files and the processes locking them
As a troubleshooting step, try:
- Deleting the published document.
- If distributing to the UserDocuments folder defined in Setup > (Distribution Service) > General > Path, delete the user document (not the source document)
- If distributing to a specific folder as defined in the task itself (Status > Tasks > (Your Task) > Edit > Distribute > Distribute to folder), delete the file in that location
- Restarting all Qlikview services (if you restart only the Distribution Service, this may not resolve the issue).
