Qlik Sense - Unable to connect to DB2 databases if the user’s password has special characters

In Qlik Sense if you try to connect to a DB2 database using an earlier version of Qlik Sense September 2017, you can encounter issues when your database password contains any sort of special characters.
In the Qlik Sense Engine -> Trace -> System logs you might see an error looking like:
