The QlikView 11.20 track allows for a feature to display images from a URL (i.e. Google maps) and use them as a background in a chart.
In QilkView 12.x and 12.10.x track, this may not work, both for Server and Desktop applications, when the end user is behind a proxy server. The image in the background of the chart will be missing.
The prior workarounds given (like use of https, different type of URL, especially for Google, or AllowGeneralAccessToImagesThroughURL settings) are no longer resolving the issue.
Images are accessible from a browser, without using any kind of authentication and Web Server Logs do not contain any errors.
From 12.10 SR 9 and 12.20.x forward, manually add the following parameter (WebFileUseWinAPI = 1) in the Settings.ini file.
By default, the Settings.ini for QlikView Server is located at C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Settings.ini
For QlikView Desktop is located in C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech\QlikView\Settings.ini
This will enable the old implementation, the one used in 11.20 track, rather than LibCurl introduced in the 12.0.x and 12.10.x track.
***Please note that WebFileUseWinAPI = 1 setting must be entered under the [Settings 7] section. If the setting is added under the [Authentication] section, it will not be read by the QlikView Server, and will therefore not resolve the issue
