Deallocate tokens / negative unallocated tokens

The licensing in Qlik Sense is based on tokens, which are used to allocate access passes (User Access Pass or Login Access Pass) that allow users to access in Qlik Sense.
Qlik Sense is administered using a License Enabling File (LEF), which holds the number of tokens available to allocate to different access passes.

• When a User Access Pass is removed, it enters quarantine for seven (7) days, counting from the last time that the access pass was used.
• When a Login Access Pass is removed, the tokens used to allocate the access pass becomes available in accordance to an algorythm:

For every ten (10) unused Login Access Passes >> one (1) token is freed up.
For every ten (10) Login Access Passes that leave the used state after 28 days, one (1) token is  freed up.

• In case that a server moves back from a license that has 50 tokens (all of them used), to a smaller license eg. 25 tokens, this will lead to negative unallocated tokens error.

In order to overcome that:

• Re-install Qlik Sense Server (if this is not a production machine)
• Unassign and then wait for the Tokens to become available again after the Quarantine is up
