Load Balancing rules can be utilized to dedicate a specific not to serve Apps.
Example:
A Qlik Sense setup consists out of a Central and a RIM node. It is desired to have a particular Stream to be available on the RIM node.
Environment:
Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows
Resolution:
Note: Load Balancing rules can only be applied on Apps and will not prevent Streams from displaying. However, those Streams will be empty.
For detailed instructions, see Creating load balancing rules. The information below is provided to assist in visualizing the steps.
- At first, disable the default Load Balancing rule dedicated to making Apps available on
all nodes.
- Open the Qlik Sense Management Console
- Go to Load Balancing rules
- Disable the default Load Balancing rule dedicated to making Apps available on all nodes.
- A new rule will need to be created now. See Creating load balancing rules.
Example:
The Advanced condition implies that on the node named RIM 01, only the specified Stream will be available. The ID can be found in the Stream settings.
((node.name="RIM 01") and (resource.stream.id="12e959fd-67e7-4b95-a3cc-b332c3d339ce")) - The Load Balancing of the RIM Virtual Proxy needs to be configured so that only the RIM Engine is being used. Otherwise, the Proxy will still be able to access the Central node, and therefore make all Apps available.
This example is provided "as is". Modifications will need to be made dependent on more specific requirements. Should assistance be required to do so, please contact our community at community.qlik.com or your account team for services in configuring this customization.
