NPrinting does not send single email to all users in the 'To' list

Last Update:

Created date:

Environment:

  • All supported NPrinting versions

How it works:

  • Nprinting reports may be published (distributed) to a single or multiple users as e-mail to recipients (NPrinting Users or Groups) added within an NPrinting publish task.
  • Recipients (NPrinting Users or Groups) may be added or removed via the NPrinting Web Console > Tasks > Publish Tasks.
  • When "Email" is selected as a 'destination' within the NPrinting Publish Task, then NPrinting will automatically populate the 'to' field of the 'email message' area of the NPrinting publish task.
  • NPrinting sends individual emails even if they are part of the same group.
  • To send a copy of the report to a manager, for example, you may use the 'cc' or 'bcc' field of the 'email message' area within the NPrinting publish task.
  • See NPrinting Email report distribution for a complete step by step NPrinting Publish Task configuration: Distributing reports by email (Help.com)

NOTE

  • Different users may have different user-defined filters and therefore it is intentionally designed that a separate e-mail is sent to each separate NPrinting user.
  • NPrinting does not 'Burst" email delivery. Emails are sent one at a time in order to respect user filters. By default in NPrinting, it is not possible to 'burst' email delivery.

Note: From April 2020 and later versions

  • The ability to add variables for alternate emails as variables has been added making NPrinting Publish Task Distribution by email even more flexible.
  • See the following for details about this feature and correctly configuring email distribution of NPrinting report: About dynamic text and variables in emails (Help.com).
